Calculation the position of control valve
A loop controller gives the loop signal of 7.8 mA of the control valve. How much valve will be open or position of Control valve?
Because this relation is linear so we will use standard 4-20 mA formula.
Y= (16/100)X+4
Y= output current signal
X= Process variable in percentage
Solution:
7.8= (16/100) X+4
3.8= 0.16 X
X= 23.75 %
Hence if we are receiving 7.8 mA current it means valve is 23.75 % open.
