Building Insulation Documents
The following shall be submitted to Company:
a. Product data: for each type of product required.
b. Samples for verification: full-size width units 300 mm x 300 mm for each type of insulation required.
c. Product test reports: copies of certified test reports showing compliance with specified standards and performance values.
Quality Assurance of Building Insulation
- Each type of building insulation shall be obtained through one source.
- Insulation and related materials shall be provided which have the fire-test-response characteristics indicated, as determined by testing identical products in accordance with the test method indicated below by UL, or another testing and inspecting agency acceptable to Company. Materials shall be identified with appropriate markings of applicable testing and inspecting agency.
a. Surface-burning characteristics: ASTM E 84.
b. Fire-resistance ratings: ASTM E 119.
c. Combustion characteristics: ASTM E 136.
Delivery, Storage and Handling
- Insulation materials shall be protected from physical damage and from deterioration by moisture, soiling, and other sources. They shall be stored inside and in a dry location. Manufacturer’s written instructions for handling, storing, and protecting during installation shall be complied with.
- Insulation materials shall be in perfect conditions at time of acceptance.
