HVAC MATERIAL STORAGE HANDLING AND PRESERVATION METHOD STATEMENT

  1. PURPOSE

    • The intent of this document  is  to define  the method statement and work procedure for  material storage, handling and preservation as per the scope. To establish, document,  implement and maintain a quality work instruction of handling supplied HVAC materials & equipment and to ensure compliance with the procedure and applicable Saudi Aramco Standards for the project.
  2. SCOPE

    • The scope  covers all  HVAC materials  & equipment supplied by ZAMIL as defined in the scope of work and MTO.
  3. SAFETY

    1. This policy covers all of the safety procedures of Projects. We are fully committed to our corporate goals:  no accidents,  no harm to people and no damage to the environment. In meeting with this policy, ZP will:
    2. Expect all personnel to demonstrate  commitment  and leadership  in  health, safety and environmental (HSE) protection. Managers at all levels will consider these issues as the primary focus when making business decisions which  may impact these critical areas.
    3. Meet or  exceed  compliance  obligations  of  applicable  HSE  legislation   and regulations and customer requirements.
    4. Provide  employees with  a safe place to work,  clear expectations  regarding
    5. HSE requirements and the necessary training to perform their jobs.
    6. Work closely  with   our  customers  to  contribute   effectively   to  their  HSE programs and compliance efforts.
    7. Maintain a commitment  to incident  and pollution  prevention  and to continue improvement in HSE performance.
    8. Necessary house-keeping will be done on regular basis to keep the working area safe and clean.
  4. REFERENCE STANDARD AND REGULATION

    1. The work under the all  sections  shall  comply with  the  latest  Edition  of the applicable standards and codes of the following:

      2. SAEP-1154         – Guideline for Contractor’s Quality Plan
      3. SAEP-122            – Project Records
      4. ISO9000:2000     – Quality  Management Systems Fundamentals and Vocabulary
      5. ISO9000:2008     – Quality Management Systems — Requirements
      6. SAES-K-001        – Saudi Aramco  Engineering Standard for Heating,  Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
      7. SAES-K100         – Saudi Aramco Mechanical (HVAC) Code.

  5. DEFINITION

    • Material handling, storage and preservation – Refer to the process of handling, storage and preservation of material to prevent damage or deterioration to the material until the material  is accepted by the client.
  6. RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Store keeper:

      1. Shall  be  responsible  in  the  overall  supervision  of  activities  connected  with receiving, segregation, storage, preservation and maintenance, identification, safekeeping,   inventory   and  issuance.   Shall  be  responsible  for  the  actual receiving  of  delivered  material  with  QC  inspector, Physical Inspection and quantity check. Receives/reviews and list all records and documents relating to materials,  initiates segregation and marking requires for items identification.
    2. SITE QC INSPECTOR:

      1. Performs   inspection, monitors in-place Storage, assures that adequate protection and preventive maintenance are provided for materials and equipment and completes required documentation. He shall issue a Non conformance report for any material or equipment that in non-conformance with the specification.
      2. QC Inspector and SAPMT shall check during receipt of any Saudi Aramco Supplied Materials about its physical condition and quality against specification and/or purchase order.
      3. QC Inspector responsible for receiving inspection, review of procured materials documentation/testing, raise RFI through QMIS to SAPID for inspection attached all  required documents filled SATIP, SAIC, SATR etc.
    3. CONSTRUCTION TEAM ENSURE:

      1. Proper  preservation, Storage and handling of material delivered at site/laydown yard.
      2. All safety precautions to be taken as per the HSE plan.
  7. HVAC MATERIAL STORAGE HANDLING AND PRESERVATION PROCEDURE

    1. The implementation  of this procedure is the responsibility  of site engineers. The QC Inspectors  are to monitor and verify that this procedure is  strictly implemented.
    2. Upon the receipt of the materials/equipment on site, the site engineer have to arrange and ensure that the materials are handled and stored per the following:
      • Work specifications.
      • Manufacturer recommendations.
      • Saudi Aramco  Standards.
    3. The site engineer  and the QC Inspector have to conduct material  inspection on the materials/equipment delivered  to the site.  Non-conforming materials are stored separately  from acceptable  materials.
    4. The site engineer  stores the acceptable  materials to the designated  area & materials  release for installation.  The QC Inspector recommends  the disposition for the nonconforming materials/equipment. The Non-conformance report will be forwarded  to the Procurement  Manager for corrective  action.
    5. The site engineer  shall ensure that proper handling,  storage and preservation are strictly implemented to avoid damage  and deterioration  of the material while in the material  lay down yard.
    6. Storage areas shall be provided to ensure  protection,  safety and security. Products  are protected  and packed  in accordance  with relevant specification and or client requirements.
    7. The site engineer  shall also be responsible  for the implementation of this procedure for the materials/equipment installed  in the work site.  He shall arrange for the necessary  protection  to prevent damage  and deterioration  to the material/ equipment  until  accepted  by SAUDI ARAMCO.
    8. Materials  shall  not be moved from the storage  area to the work area,  or permanent  location  until the receiving inspection  is completed.  However, ducting  shall be delivered  to near individual  buildings  and properly  protected & preserved.
    9. DUCT ACCESSORIES:

      1. (Volume control dampers, grills, diffusers, fixtures)
        1. Deliver   all  duct   accessories   as  per  tag  numbers   and   IFC   drawings   in   the laydown yard.
        2. Carefully handle the duct accessories to avoid damage and malfunctioning.
        3. Do not install damaged duct accessories,  replace/rectify  and return  damaged duct accessories as applicable to manufacturer.
        4. Avoid crushing and prevent dirt and debris from entering and settling on duct accessories.
        5. Where possible, store and protect from the atmosphere and construction worker traffic.
        6. All duct accessories shall be stored and protected from the atmosphere
        7. All units stored above grade and enclose with water proof wrapping.
        8. The materials  shall  be inspected  and shipped to site  location  as and when required.
    10. DUCTING, INSULATION AND SUPPORTS:

      1. Deliver all ducting, insulation,  and supporting materials  as per IFC  drawings to laydown yard or near the buildings,  as the case may be(ducting).
      2. Carefully handle the duct to avoid damage to fabricated duct and its   finish.
      3. Do not install  damaged  duct,   replace/rectify  and  return  damaged  duct  and supports as applicable to manufacturer.
      4. Avoid crushing and prevent dirt and debris from entering and settling on duct and supports.
      5. Store and protect all the material from the atmosphere and construction worker traffic.
      6. Stored duct outside yard, take the same precaution and store above grade and enclose with water proof wrapping.
      7. Duct insulation material must be store in clean area with water proof wrapping.
      8. The  materials  shall  be inspected  and shipped to site  location  as and when required.
    11. REFRIGERANT PIPING/ACCESSORIES:

      1. To be stored in storage container and properly stacked.
      2. Carefully handle the refrigerant pipes,  accessories  and control  field devices to avoid damages.
      3. Do not install damaged refrigerant pipes,  accessories  and control  field devices replace/rectify and return damaged accessories as applicable to manufacture.
      4. Control field  devices  shall  be protected from  dust and debris  and must  not exposed to direct sunlight and rain water.
      5. Refrigerant pipe and accessories shall be protected from moisture entering into it.
      6. The materials  shall be inspected  and shipped to site  location  as and when required.
  8. SAFETY

    1. GUIDELINES:   Person  working  with  ducting  work  shall  wear  the  personal protective equipment’s at all times on the job site. Warning sign boards and light shall also be provided where necessary.
    2. RESPONSIBILITIES:   Safety   Inspector/Officer   in   conjunction   with   the   site supervisor or foreman shall physically check and conform that all safety requirements had been provided and implemented.
