What is Bus Duct in Electrical System?

Bus Duct Installation Method Statement
The installation of bus ducts shall strictly adhere to the manufacturer’s provided installation instructions, ensuring that industry best practices are followed.
All bolted connections within the bus duct system shall be torqued to the exact specifications outlined by the manufacturer. This torquing process must be carried out in the presence of an field representative to guarantee the precision of the connections. In cases where bus duct connections utilize a visual indicator for proper bolt tightening, such as Square-D company’s “Visi-Tite” double-headed bolts, it is the engineering contractor’s responsibility to ensure that the field representative witnesses the breaking of the bolt head and the associated warning tag, as per the manufacturer’s specified design.

Upon the completion of bus duct installation, the contractor is required to remove all drain plugs and replace them with bug screens approved by the bus duct manufacturer. This step is essential to facilitate proper moisture drainage within the bus duct system and maintain its integrity.
