This Specification characterizes the necessities for material choice, associations, enumerating, manufacture, exciting, painting and coatings, stamping for erection and conveyance of basic and random steel. Erection of auxiliary steel will be per 12-SAMSS-008. Seaward structures and pre-built metal structures are prohibited from this detail.

Material Requirements

All material will be of new stock. The base thickness of any piece of a basic shape will be 5 mm.  Where contact of divergent metals will cause galvanic consumption, a reasonable protecting material will be given between the metals.

Auxiliary Shapes, Plates and Bars

ASTM A36/ASTM A36M (for plates, bars, M, S, HP, C, MC and L-shapes); ASTM A572/ASTM A572M, or ASTM A992/ASTM A992M (for WT and W-shapes). Generally acknowledged basic steel materials and shapes other than ASTM might be utilized as per Appendix 1 of this determination. Metal Decking
