PROCEDURE FOR ANCHOR BOLT TEMPLATE INSTALLATION

Tools and Equipment used Anchor Bolt Template Installation

  • Tools and equipment should be in good condition and must be checked by Competent Person
    and respective Supervisor prior to use in the plant.
  • Measuring instruments shall have valid calibration certificates.
  • Tools and equipment must be color-coded according to the color of the month. Defective tools and equipment shall be returned to Central Tool room and Equipment Services to avoid inadvertent use.
  • Tools and equipment shall consist but not limited to the following: 
  1. Mobile Crane or Boom truck Auto level
  2. Theodolite
  3. Carpenter Hand Tools Grinder
  4. Electric Drill
  5. Structural Fitters Hand Tools Welding Machine

PROCEDURES FOR ANCHOR BOLT TEMPLATE INSTALLATION

We normally do General Preparatory Work for our activity.

  • Confirm the turnover of civil works foundation/pedestals form for the installation.
  • Anchorage Template Support. Secure valid Work Transfer Sheet form Civil Discipline. Secure necessary work permit from prior to start of work/activity.
  • Check foundations and other connection points to confirm locations, orientation elevation and condition.
  • Prior to turnover, ensure that the completed foundation Re-bars work was already checked and its dimensions, levelness, alignment, top of concrete elevation, and others are as per the latest revision of drawings and within acceptable tolerances. 

Preassembly and Erection

  1. Design of Equipment Template support base on Equipment foundation type and actual site condition.
  2. Type I : Post and Beam Type – Hanger type of temporary supports for Equipment Template is recommendable to 4.?meters diameter and below.  
    • All materials shall be place on designated area near the location for assembly and erection.
    • Setting of Structural supports or other adjusting devices shall be in a manner that will ensure structural members are located in correct positions and elevations. 
    • Position the crane on designated area prior for lifting and erection of anchorage Template.
    • Provide temporary bracing prior for alignment of Anchor bolt template.
    • Place outside support post and bracing on first poured concrete footing fixed with level adjusting devices such as expansion bolt. 
    • Conduct inspection to template hole for anchor bolt location, anchor bolt elevation prior for installation of anchor bolts. 
    • Placed bolts in all holes with washers positioned and nuts threaded to complete assembly.
    • After completion of Template support erection, plumbness checking and alignment of erected support structure shall commence. 
    • Anchor bolts shall be protected with plastic wrap on its thread before pouring. 8.2.2.10 Conduct final inspection prior to turnover for concrete pouring to ensure alignment anchor bolt elevation. 

3. Type II : Embedded Type – This type of Equipment Template supports is  recommendable above 4.7meters diameter. Reinforcing materials and supports to be embedded in Foundation shall be used as epoxy coated re-bar. According to Site condition, Type I and Type Ill can be adopted herein Although Foundation is above 4. 7 diameter. 

    • All materials shall be place on designated area near the location for assembly and erection.
    • Check the installed re-bars for proper placement of embedded supports.
    • Provide temporary bracing prior for alignment of Anchor bolt template.
    • After alignment of template on temporary supports.
    • Permanent materials for template supports and bracing shall be assemble and welded at site.
    • Field weld shall be cleaned and touch-up with epoxy paint.
    • Position the crane on designated area prior for lifting and erection of anchorage Template.
    • Conduct inspection to template hole for anchor bolt location, anchor bolt elevation prior for installation of anchor bolts. 
    • Placed bolts in all holes with washers positioned and nuts threaded to complete
      assembly.
    • Anchor bolts shall be protected with plastic wrap on its thread before pouring.
    • Conduct final inspection prior to turnover for concrete pouring to ensure alignment anchor bolt elevation.
    • After concrete pouring and curing, in regard to embedded rebar, maximum 50mm depth shall be cut and removed from concrete final surface. Cutting surface shall be coated by epoxy.

4. Type Ill: Combination Type -This type of Equipment Template supports can be applied for any foundation type with concrete footing. Reinforcing materials and supports to be embedded in Foundation shall be used as epoxy coated re-bar.

    • All materials shall be place on designated area near the location for assembly and erection.
    • Check the installed re-bars for proper placement of embedded supports.
    • Provide temporary bracing prior for alignment of Anchor bolt template.
    • Permanent materials for template supports and bracing shall be assemble and welded at site.

    • Placed bolts in all holes with washers positioned and nuts threaded to complete assembly.
    • Anchor bolts shall be protected with plastic wrap on its thread before pouring.
    • Conduct final inspection prior to turnover for concrete pouring to ensure alignment anchor bolt elevation.
    • After concrete pouring and curing, in regard to embedded steel or rebar, minimum 50mm depth shall be cut and removed from concrete final surface. Cutting surface shall be coated by epoxy. 

Dismantle of Template

Minimum 7 days after concrete pouring, Template shall be removed.
