STEEL STRUCTURE MULTIPLE LIFTING WORK PROCEDURE

1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this method statement is to provide the requirements and construction mythology or the installation works of steel structure in commercial buildings, plants and refinery projects.

2.0 SCOPE

This method statement shall cover procedure for the installation works of steel structure in commercial buildings, plants and refinery projects. This also includes general requirements for job specifications, quality assurance workmanship and required safety procedures for the correct implementation and completion of work.

4.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 Construction Manager shall be responsible for all HSE matter and to study, analyze and schedule all construction activities with his department to include manpower and equipment line up as well as other possible resources required for the successful implementation of the construction work activities. Study all aspects of work procedure as per DEC/JGC technical scope of work.
4.2 Structural supervisor shall study and review all necessary documents for the installation works in his area to include, technical scope of work, specification, bill of quantities, planned milestone dates and construction procedure.
4.3 Structural foreman shall be responsible for the direct work supervision at site to ensure that the work will be performed in accordance with Technical Scope of work and latest approved for construction drawings. He shall monitor the availability of materials in line with his required schedule.
4.4 The Surveyor shall be responsible to check the verticality alignment of side panel to ensure that all panels are aligned.
4.5 QC Inspector shall be responsible of monitoring and inspection of the work to ensure that the work is
performed in accordance with Technical Scope of work and Standards.
4.6 Safety Supervisor / Officer shall be responsible in monitoring safety aspects and ensuring that the work will be done in accordance with DEC/JGC Safety Standard Procedure. He shall give reminders or advise to the workers to do the activity safety.

5.0 MANPOWER

5.1 Manpower will consist of the following, but not limited to as listed below.

5.1.1 Supervisor.
5.1.2 Foreman.
5.1.3 Erector.
5.1.4 Surveyor.
5.1.5 Rod man.
5.1.6 Crane Operator (Aramco Certified).
5..7 Man lift Operator (Aramco Certified).

5.1.8 Scaffolder.
5.1. 9 Safety Supervisor / Officer.
5.2.0 Helpers.
5.2.1 QC Inspector.

6.0 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

6.1 Tools and equipment needed should be in good condition and must be checked by Engineer, Supervisor and Safety Officer prior to use in the construction area. These Includes but not limited as below.

6.1.1 Hydraulic crane/crawler crane with complete accessories.
6.1.2 Man lift.
6.1.3 Sling.
6.1.4 Shackle.
6.1.5 Auto level or level machine and total station.
6.1.6 Tag line nylon rope.
6.1.7 lmpack machine.
6.1.8 Torque wrench.

7.0 METHODS/ PROCEDURE

7.1 Job site Receiving inspection

7.1.1 When unloading materials delivered to the job site, method of unloading shall be done enable to minimize damage of painted surface.
7.1.2 Unloaded structural materials should be segregated properly according piece mark number for immediate identification.
7.1.3 Material that has damage during or after unloading shall be replaced or repaired to the original condition.

8.0 PREPARATORY WORKS.

8.1 Site access shall be done, and safe access for all intended site vehicles including delivery vehicle and cranes for the area where to install the steel structure.
8.2 Storage and erection area location of area shall be clean, level and ready.
8.3 Clearing of obstructions, below ground, above ground or any overhead obstructions.

8.5 Using approved and latest drawings, verification of dimension.
8.6 Any unsatisfactory conditions of pedestal and anchor bolts shall be subject for rectification prior to erection of steel structure.
8.7 Coordinate the availability of materials and accessories in accordance with the proper sequence of installation works.
8.8 Anticipate any obstruction or interference of installation works, position of the crane and man lift as per installation plan.
8.9 Man lift shall be used during erection work to removed the sling, bolting and bolt tightening the bolt.
8.10 Barricade the working area and provide safety caution sign.
8.11 Scaffolds shall be provided with adequate and safe access to and from the work platform.

9.0 LIFTING PLAN & PROCEDURE FOR STEEL STRUCTURE

9.1 Using crane to lift the (1) one or (3) three beam or brace at the same time with the deferent level and deferent length of sling.
9.2 Attached the sling at beam 1 top, beam 2 at the middle and beam 3 at the lower.
9.3 Install the beam 3 first followed by beam 2 and the beam 1.

10.0 QUALITY CONTROL

11.1 QA/QC inspectors shall conduct the inspection, documentation, test, sampling and other requirements needed.
11.2 QA/QC Inspectors shall record and file all the necessary documents duly signed and approved by the company representative in all aspects of work.
11.3 Check the current status of approved FOR CONSTRUCTION DRAWING to meet the requirements of the project.

11.0 SAFETY PRECAUTION

12.1 Approved work permit should be obtained prior to start any repair works.
12.2 Work Execution shall be carried out in accordance with this method of statement.
12.3 All crew must carried out a safety risk assessment prior to start of any new activity.
12.4 The necessary manpower inclusive of supervisory staff, tools, equipment, materials, and other resources required must be available and ready to use.
12.5 Workers should wear their PPE’s always.
12.6 Good housekeeping must be maintained in the duration of works.
12.7 Safety Supervisor/ Officer shall monitor compliance of entire working crew for the safety procedure until the work is fully completed.
12.8 Subcontractors shall make sure that all be incident and injury free.
