Supervisor Work Scope

The function of the Superintendent is to ensure satisfactory execution and consolidation of on-site construction activities on time, within budget and according to specification.

Supervisor Work Responsibilities

There are following authorities of Supervisor responsibilities at construction site of plants refineries and plants.

  1. Oversee and administer the daily reports, to ensure effective performance of all involved.
  2. Ensure safety requirements are maintained.
  3. Ensure all the materials necessary are on site and take any action necessary to maintain such status.
  4. Liaison with other project personnel.
  5. Provide supervision and guidance to those people he is responsible for.
  6. Raise material requisitions as required.
  7. Ensure compliance with the stated quality requirements of the project.
  8. Incorporate approved contract variations.
  9. Ensure the effective operation of tracking and recording material deliveries.
  10. Liaise with the Main Contractor representative and attend meetings.
  11. Review and report progress status and estimate time and cost to completion of each activity.
  12. Develop and implement Work Method Statements for works carried out by Contractor / Subcontractor.
  13. Review and comment on Work Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans and QC Plans submitted.
  14. Ensure all requirements of the specifications are achieved.
  15. Coordinate all Engineers in each work area.
  16. Notify Contractor / Subcontractor QC department of impending HOLD and WITNESS points.
  17. Control works to prevent non-conformance with the specification, those activities assigned on Contractor / Subcontractor Inspection and Test Plans and Checklists.
  18. Arrange inspection of goods on site ordered by Contractor / Subcontractor.

Supervisor Authority

There are following authorities of Supervisor at construction site of plants refineries and plants.

  1. Direct personnel to stop work on safety grounds.
  2. Direct personnel to rectify unsatisfactory workmanship.
  3. Initiate urgent rectifications of non-conformance action when required.
  4. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformances relating to the work processes and product.
  5. Identify and record any problems relating to the product and process.
  6. Direct corrective actions. This may involve stopping a work process until corrective action approved.
