QC INSPECTOR Normally Reports to the Head Office QA/QC Manager of Company/Contractor /Subcontractor and day to day reporting to the Site Manager or Project Manager.

QC Inspector Scope for Work

The functions of the QC Engineer are to control all quality functions upon the project, within the guidelines of the Company/Client or General International level Quality Management System and the project specific quality documents. He will be the site Quality System representative who is responsible for audits and organizing Quality Records.

QC Inspector Responsibilities

There are following responsibilities for QC Inspector of any field.

  1. Ensure that Quality Management Systems are implemented and maintained in accordance with the defined quality standards.
  2. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance.
  3. Review the preventative actions recommended in non-conformance reports, initiate and verify corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of non-conformity.
  4. Initiate record or provide solutions for quality problems.
  5. Ensure site personnel follow the quality assurance system and assist in training of site personnel in the QA/QC system.
  6. Expedite, review and approve the preparation of Method Statement and Field Inspection procedures.
  7. Liaise with Main Contractor QC personnel to ensure the specified requirements are met.
  8. Ensure QA requirements are stated on purchase requisitions and orders. Also to ensure that the use of correct materials at the site and management of the non-conforming goods from its unintended use.
  9. Comply with all the requirements handing over documentation for the milestone achievements and end of the project.
  10. Co-ordinate with site QC Inspectors in the day to day functioning of the department and act as the co-ordination point between Owner, Main Contractor and Sub Contractor.
  11. Prepares and develops Project ITPs and Method Statement in coordination with Head Office QA/QC Manager.

QC Inspector Authority

  1. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to the product, process and quality system.
  2. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  3. Direct corrective actions.
  4. Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Risk Assessment form will be submitted prior to the starting of the job.
