Civil Duct Bank for Instrument Cable – Standard Drawings

1. All dimensions are in millimetres unless noted other wise.
2. See design drawings for elevations and coordinates.

3. For concrete general notes See SES B50-F01-02,  For concrete specifications, See SES B51-S01

4. Protective coating shall be applied to the concrete surface as per SES B51-S01, unless specified otherwise.
5. Proper temporay cover for conduit pipes shall be provided during concrete pouring until cable laying.

6. P.V.C. conduit pipe and P.V.C. pipe cap shell thickness shall be equivalent to schedule 40.
7. Instrumentation cables shall be grouped in the following three groups.

  • Group-1 (low level groups) Electronic instrument signal, cables including thermo couple signal, digital signal, data hiway cable, intrinsically safe circuit.
  • Group-2 (DC power circuit) Alarm, interlocks shut down, DC power.
  • Group-3 (AC power circuit) AC contact, AC power.

8. Isolation distance.
Minimum 100 mm shall be kept between group-1 and group-2. Minimum 300 mm shall be kept between group -2 and group-3.

9. For conduit pipes greater than 6″ diameter ends shall be filled or grinded to provide surface for cable pulling.
10. At both ends of PVC conduit , pipe cap shall be provided.
