General Handling – Cable reels shall be rolled on hard surfaces and not allowed to sink into soil during handling.
Lift Gate Handling – Cable reel shall be rolled onto lift gate and chocked (all four corners) to prevent load shifting during lifting or lowering.

Man Handling – Cable reels shall be rolled on a solid surface incline ramp that is at least 200 mm (8 inches) wider than the cable reel width.
Fork Lift Handling – Reel flanges shall be cradled between the fork tines, and shall touch flange edges at all four points.
Crane Lift Handling – Lifting shaft (inserted through center arbor hole of both flanges) or cradle shall be attached to crane hook using a spreader bar. Lifting cable (or slings) shall not touch either cable reel flange.
