Instrumentation QA QC Checks

Victaulic requires QA/ QC checks during installation. If possible have a Victaulic representative come to the site before beginning the installation of Victaulic Press Fit Couplings.

Make sure the contractor is measuring pipe insertion utilizing fitting for insertion depth and drawing a circle around spool piece to be press fit per manufacturer’s recommendation.

Verify tool is being used properly with the appropriate die size. (Note: All installation details can be accessed on the Victaulic website at victaulic.com/mainframe.cfm)

All threaded piping shall be made up with as few joints as possible and with clean-cut taper threads. Piping shall be reamed of burrs and kept clean of scale, dirt, chips and oil. Unions shall be installed as shown on the drawings or as required for proper assembly and disassembly of in line instruments and control valves.

Blow down lines once work is complete and perform a pressure test. For threaded I/A lines, specification calls for a pressure test of 100 psi. Maintain pressure test log for Q/C Records. Refer to specification 28-630290, paragraph 13.4 for details.
