Vinyl Cove Base Skirting Installation Procedure | Method Statement
1. SCOPE
Vinyl Cove Base Skirting Installation for buildings as per CONTRACTOR/COMPANY drawings, specifications & standards.
2. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Method Statement / procedure is to describe in detail the appropriate requirement for Vinyl Cove Base Skirting Installation for buildings for Rack Room and Telecom Room.
3. OBJECTIVE
To ensure the execution of Vinyl Cove Base Skirting Installation for buildings for Rack Room and Telecom Room are meeting with all quality and safety requirements under the above Referenced project.
4. DEFINITIONS
Method Statement : A written document that gives specific instructions on how to perform a work related task safely or safe operation plan using tools and equipment.
5. REFERENCES
The latest revision of COMPANY’s Project Specifications shall be used as references and shall be the part of this Method of Statement during work execution.

6.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 Site Manager
The Site Manager shall ensure compliance by all foremen, labors and other craftsmen to the requirements of this procedure. He shall observe and implement proper execution of the work and responsible for implementation of HSE on the site.
6.2 Site Engineer
The Site Building Engineer has the overall responsibility for the implementation of work as per Approved drawings. He shall arrange the manpower, equipment and materials required for the Implementation of the works, coordinate with HSE Officer and QA/QC Site Manager involved in the tasks in accordance to the method statement.
6.3 Safety Supervisor
The Safety Supervisor shall ensure that all workers are in compliance with the requirements of the safety manual. He is responsible for monitoring the work area for any unsafe conditions and make corrective actions where necessary.
6.4 Site Supervisor/ Foreman
The Site Supervisor and/or Foreman are solely responsible in assuring that all materials installed permanently and works being implemented are in conformance with specifications and manufacture’s recommendation.
6.5 QC Manager
He will ensure all the material & method statement is approved prior to start of work. He will explain QC requirement for installation of vinyl cove base skirting to PM, site representative & QC supervisor/inspector and coordinate with them. He will ensure that all work is inspected and accepted as per Aramco requirement & SATIP. He will identify any potential nonconformance & suggest preventive action to eliminate occurrence of nonconformance.
6.6 QC Inspector
The QC Inspector is responsible to conduct daily surveillance and inspections as necessary in accordance with this procedure and project quality requirement. Prepare quality control records and documentation to secure completion of activity for final acceptance and handover.
7.0 MATERIALS
A) Vinyl Cove Base Skirting
B) Adhesive E85
7.1 MATERIAL STORAGE
Materials shall be stored in original packing in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations and Saudi Aramco standards requirements.
8.0 PROCEDURE
8.1 Pre-installation
8.1.1 Surface shall be dry, clean free of dust, paint and residual adhesives.
8.1.2 Before starting the skirting work the surface shall be cleaned of all loose materials.
8.2 Installation
8.2.1 The vinyl cove base skirting tiles shall be installed on the locatings shown on the IFC drawings.
8.2.2 The skirting tiles are cut to the required size before starting the installation.
8.2.3 Approved adhesive material shall be applied uniformly without air any bubbles using scrapers or appropriate tools.
8.2.4 Skirting tiles are fixed firmly using appropriate tools.
8.2.5 Excess adhesive material moving out of skirting edge shall be removed.
8.2.6 After laying all the skirting tiles area is completely cleaned before inspection.
8.2.7 Ensure that the skirting tiles are installed as per manufacturer recommendation.
9.0 QUALITY CONTROL AND INSPECTION PLAN
Inspection shall be carried out as per applicable SATIP and SAIC.
11. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.
11.1 Obtain the approval of the work permit and required applicable documents from the concerned representative before starting any work.
11.2 work executions shall be carried out in accordance with method statement, and in compliance with SA.
11.3 Continuous monitoring and inspection shall be implemented to detect and correct unsafe practices while performing the work activities.
11.4 Warning signs and Barricades along competent personnel will be assigned during work.
11.5 All power tools shall be prior inspected before work.
11.6 All workers shall wear a Minimum PP E’s required for the task. (Helmet, Safety Glasses, Safety shoes, Gloves, Face shiled, ear plug, etc).
11. 7 Dust/Respirator mask shall be provided to prevent inhalation of dust.
11.8 Field supervisor shall monitor the work activities to help and to protect all assigned workers against exposure the safety hazards. He shall ensure that PPE’s are supplied and used and comply with SA standards.
11.9 Housekeeping shall be maintained and working area shall be kept clear in a clean and tidy manner.
