Fiber Optical Splicing Accessories Material Selection & Receiving Checklist

  1. Verify Received materials have been inspected for damage and for compliance to applicable requirements.
  2. Verify Material Storage and Protection is as per Manufacturer’s Recommendation.
  3. Verify all equipment and components received comply with the project PO specification and shall conform to all applicable requirements, standards, and specifications prior to release to be used as part of the work.
  4. Verify that the received materials are new and unused.
  5. Verify that material and accessories are in accordance with the Saudi Aramco-approved project-specific design drawings, diagrams, schedules, lists, databases, and associated design documents
  6. Verify that Splicing equipment is an approved fusion splicing equipment and the mechanical splices are the approved type.
  7. Verify and ensure for the received material, the normal splicing tools such as the followings are available:
    1) Optical fiber splicing kit, 2) Lint free tissue, 3) Isopropyl alcohol, 4) Approved cable cleaner, 5) Approved Cleaver Tool, 6) Approved Mechanical Stripping Tool, 7) Splice Closures.”
  8. Verify Equipment and materials identification procedure is implemented for the received items.
  9. Ensure that equipment and accessories shall be traceable from the manufacturer and supplier through delivery, storage, fabrication, erection, installation, repair, modification and use.
