Orifice Plate/Flow Nozzle Commissioning Checklist

Followings are commissioning checklist points for Orifice Plate or Flow Nozzle before system energization.

Verified per specification sheet.
Meter run:
- Installed facing right direction.
- Proper upstream/downstream straight pipe meter run.
- Straightening vanes installed.
Orifice plate:
- Stamped correctly.
- Orifice bore diameter verified with micrometer.
- Installed correctly.
  – Sharp edge upstream and identification markings on tab in proper direction.
- Maintenance accessibility.
- Junior orifice seal installed and plate bolted down.
- Senior orifice cranking mechanism in working order.
  – Plate and gasket installed.
Flow nozzle:
- Stamped correctly.
- ID plate marked “top” is at top of the pipe run.
- ID plate data is LEGIBLE from the top of the pipe run when facing the flow direction (From this perspective, the right hand pipe tap is the high pressure tap.)
Tubing as per instrument pneumatic hookup drawing.
Pressure sensing line from correct side of orifice plate.
