Outside Plant Building Copper Cable Material Selection and Receiving Checklist
- Verify that the received materials have been inspected for damage and for compliance to applicable requirements.
- Verify Cable Reel Storage and Protection is as per Manufacturer’s Recommendation.
- Verify material and cable accessories received comply with approved project PO specification and shall conform to all applicable requirements, standards, and specifications prior to release to be used as part of the work
- Verify that the received materials are new and unused.
- Verify that material and accessories are in accordance with the Saudi Aramco-approved project-specific design drawings, diagrams, schedules, lists, databases, and associated design documents
- Verify the availability of manufacturer cable tests of the received cable reels to confirm the manufacturer’s tests before the placing operation begins.
- Verify and insure that the outer cable jacket is marked at regular intervals (not to exceed 2 m) with the following information per REA-PE-39:
a) Name of Manufacturer.
b) Year of Manufacture.
c) Number of Fibers in the cable.
d) Sequentially numbered length markers in meters” - For Outdoors storage, verify that Cable reels is supported off the ground and provided with a weatherproof (i.e., rain and dust-tight) cover per the manufacturer recommendations.
- Verify that cable reels are stored away from open flame, fire, arc welding, brazing, grinding and other sources of high heat or ignition per the manufacturer recommendations.
- Verify that the OSP copper cables is Polyethylene sheath filled cables and comply with RUS PE-90 specification.
- Verify Equipment and materials identification procedure is implemented for the received items.
- Ensure that equipment and accessories shall be traceable from the manufacturer and supplier through delivery, storage, fabrication, erection, installation, repair, modification and use.
