Pressure switch calibration and I to P Converter

Pressure Switch Calibration

•Primary application is pressure and temperature switches
•Setpoint can be hi or low type, (normally open or closed contact)
•Trip function can be contact (continuity), ACV or DCV
•Deadband is calculated
•See Switch test app. Note for more details

•Example calibration test

–Calibrator in pressure source mode, hand pump supplies test pressure
–Documents the pressure where the switch sets and resets

•Trip function can be contact (continuity), ACV or DCV
•Deadband is calculated
•Errors outside the allowable limits need to be flagged

1) Setup

2) Test

3) Documented result

Pressure transmitter linear

I to P Transmitters

I to P converts a 4-20 mA signal to a 3-15 PSI signal
•Often used with control valves
•Used as a bridge between 4-20 mA loop and 3-15  PSI pneumatic technology
•Typically operate from a 20 PSI or greater pressure supply
•“A current controlled pressure regulator”
