Vault Cable Racks Installation and Commissioning Checklist

  1. Verify that all metallic hardware used in telecommunication cable vaults are hot dipped galvanized or better.
  2. Verify that cable vault cable racking construction materials and details comply with the examples and details provided in GTE 911-500-075, Para-5.
  3. Verify that cable racking installation in cable vaults comply with manufacturer’s directions and the IFC drawings.
  4. Verify that a cable Entrance Ground Bar (CEGB) is being installed in the cable vault and connected to the Master Ground Bar (MGB)
  5. Verify that the number of cable racks installed is in accordance with the IFC Cable Vault Drawings.
  6. Verify and ensure that the communication bonding conductor used for bonding and grounding the cable racks is minimum No # 6 AW copper conductor
  7. Verify that all grounding connections of the racks is made to the CEGB using two-hole approved copper terminal lugs.
  8. Verify that all Pre-Commissioning Phase Quality Control Activities are complied.
